{"id":314,"date":"2022-12-16T23:08:26","date_gmt":"2022-12-16T23:08:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pokharelsugam.com.np\/?p=314"},"modified":"2023-10-02T16:13:28","modified_gmt":"2023-10-02T16:13:28","slug":"oxygen-is-evolved-during-photosynthesis-demonstration-practical","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pokharelsugam.com.np\/school-science\/oxygen-is-evolved-during-photosynthesis-demonstration-practical\/","title":{"rendered":"TO DEMONSTRATE THAT OXYGEN IS EVOLVED DURING PHOTOSYNTHESIS."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MATERIAL REQUIRED<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Beaker, short stem funnel, test tube, spirogyra or hydrilla plant, sodium bicarbonate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">THEORY<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The process in which green plant prepare their food in their body by using carbon dioxide and water in presence of sunlight absorbed by chlorophyll called photosynthesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Water + Carbondioxide \u27a1 Glucose + Oxygen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6H<sub>2<\/sub>O + 6CO<sub>2<\/sub> \u27a1 C<sub>6<\/sub>H<sub>12<\/sub>O<sub>6<\/sub> +6O<sub>2<\/sub>\u2191<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/uc?id=18Az6kr4gf0rWSAgWeRxuCv8WjauEdiXM\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:506px;height:443px\" width=\"506\" height=\"443\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PROCEDURE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Put a fresh hydrilla plant in a large beaker and invert the funnel over it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pour water in the beaker till the end funnel sinks completely under the water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill the test tube with fresh water keeping its mouth closed with your finger; invert it over the funnel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Put the apparatus in the bright sunlight for some hours. Observe it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">OBSERVATION<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Tiny bubbles escaping from the plant under the funnel and they are collected in the test tube by displacing the water downwards. When a glowing splinter is taken in the gas, it burns brightly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">RESULT<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The collected \/evolved gas was oxygen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CONCLUSION<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Hence, we can demonstrate that oxygen evolved during photosynthesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PRECAUION<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apparatus should be handle with care.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There should not be air bubble during fitting test tube.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hydrilla or Spirogyra must be healthy and fresh.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Few pinches of sodium bicarbonate should be added to enhance rate of photosynthesis. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experiment should be kept in direct sunlight.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MATERIAL REQUIRED Beaker, short stem funnel, test tube, spirogyra or hydrilla plant, sodium bicarbonate.
